UX/UI Designer

Position located in Tampa, FL. Minimal travel required.

Job Summary

As the UI/UX Designer at Thumbstopper, you’ll play a key role in turning software into easy- to use products for our customers. Your expertise will be pivotal in delivering the best online user experience using various methods and the latest technology. UI/UX Designer responsibilities include gathering user requirements, designing robust user interfaces, graphical elements, building navigation components, and enhancing our SaaS application’s user experience. Ultimately, you’ll create both functional and appealing features that address our clients’ needs and help us grow our customer base.

Job Duties / Responsibilities
  • Research, plan and implement new designs
  • Optimize existing user interface designs
  • Test for intuitivity and experience
  • Design for the best possible user experience within our application
  • Communicate with clients to understand their business goals and objectives
  • Develop technical and business requirements and always strive to deliver intuitive and user-centered solutions
  • Create click-through prototypes and wireframes
  • Combine creativity with an awareness of the design elements
  • Create prototypes for new product ideas
  • Test new ideas before implementing
  • Conduct an ongoing user research
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as required.
Daily Requirements
  • Contribute a minimum of 40 working hours per week, excluding lunch/breaks.
    • Standard hours 8:00am-5:00pm; 1-hour lunch.
    • Notify management via e-mail or Slack if tardiness will exceed 30 minutes at beginning or end of day.
  • Participate in scheduled meeting(s) to discuss department priorities.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting with numerous projects, deadlines, and stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with internal staff and clients
  • Ability to work independently and proactively
  • Passion for working in a fast-paced environment, comfortable with continuous change, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and perform duties outside those described
  • Experience working with a SaaS company
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in UI/UX and technology
  • Ability to discuss and explain design options
  • Experience with wireframe/prototype software (Figma is preferred)
  • Knowledge of Adobe range of products including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat
  • Proficient on O365
Education / Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience as an UI-UX Designer or similar role
  • 3+ years of experience with HTML5 & CSS3
  • UI design portfolio
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
